Restaurant Amuse Named Best Australian Eatery

While Dine for Life’s primary objective is to raise awareness and funds for deserving charities, we are also passionate about invigorating Perth’s mid-week dining culture. For our events, we specifically choose restaurants that we consider to contribute the most to Perth’s growing reputation as being Australia’s up-and-coming culinary hotspot.

One such restaurant is Restaurant Amusé, a degustation restaurant run by husband and wife team Carolynne and Hadleigh Troy. Since opening in 2007, Restaurant Amusé has been steadily gaining repute amongst food critics nationwide. It was rated Number One Restaurant in WA by The Top 50 Restaurants Guide 2010. The newly published Western Australian Good Food Guide 2011 gave Restaurant Amusé an impressive score of 18/20 and two stars – the publication’s highest rating – saying that Chef Troy creates “food that transcends enjoyment. It requires appreciation and a sense of adventure.”

Restaurant Amusé’s latest honour, however, has rocked Australia’s culinary industry – the National Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Awards For Excellence named the eatery Restaurant of the Year for 2010. The team of judges based their decision on 55 criteria and across such restaurants as Tetsuya’s in Sydney, Adelaide’s The Manse Restaurant and La Fontaine in Queensland.

In an interview with WAtoday, Carolynne Troy says, “The last thing we expected was to beat those guys, we were extremely proud to be in the category,” she said. “We see it as a really positive thing for Perth.”

We at Dine for Life are thrilled to have a restaurant of such a high calibre here in Perth – and are extremely proud to have Restaurant Amusé as a partner for our Summer Dinner on 1 December.
